Baby Carrots are kid friendly but would your kids ever consider them “junk food”? Maybe they’ll feel differently after a $25 million dollar campaign that likens the color of carrots to Cheetos with the crunch of Doritos. Bolthouse Farms is leading 50 carrots producers in an effort to reinvent baby carrots as the “in” junk food. The farmers hope to convince children that it’s cool to pick “the original orange doodles” and as Halloween approaches to beware a lunchbox containing scarrots. There’s even a phone app to entice audiophiles with the allure of carrots begin crunched. Which ever way you
want to present them, baby carrots should always be kept on hand for a ready snack or handy lunch side for your children and you.
As part of their makeover, baby carrots will be reimagined with:
• Packaging designed to look more like chips
• Sold in school vending machines
• Featured on billboards with slogans like: “The original orange doodles”
Whether the campaign works or not, baby carrots are a must have staple in every household.
